What are Essential Oils

Essential Oils are concentrated compounds that have been pressed or distilled from plants. Essential Oils are different from fixed oils like vegetable cooking oil because they don't contain fatty or oil components. They are called Essential Oils because they carry the unique fragrance or extract of the plant or plant part from which they are made. They are used primarily for aromatherapy, and scenting soaps, candles, and other products. Some Essential Oils, like peppermint and cinnamon, are used for flavoring products such as toothpaste and candy. Some Essential Oils are used in producing household cleaners. I will share a simple household cleaning recipe with you guys.

Lemons and Lemon Essential Oil are very common in household cleaners. You can shine up your faucets with a lemon. Cut the lemon in half and use it as a scrub. I use lemon Essential Oil in my water when I mop at times. Smells so good. All it takes is just a few drops.

Kitchen and Bathroom Cleaner

1 cup Hydrogen Peroxide or Distilled Vinegar
2 cups Water
2 drops Lemon Essential Oil

Mix all in a spray bottle. Spray on surface and let it sit for about an hour before wiping it off.
